How to Cut Burlap

Did you know there’s a certain way to cut burlap so it won’t fray? When I was at Joann’s the lady at the fabric counter showed me how to cut it so it won’t fray and it cuts a perfect straight line.

How to cut burlap

All you do is pull one of the strings on the end and it will leave a small gap. Just cut right in between the gap.

So be sure you pull the string in the same place where you want to cut!

    I did this and it still ravels and it is not straight .
    • Hi Gloria! Thank you for stopping by. This was a tip given to me by my local sewing store. I haven't had any problems with it, I would suggest to make sure you are cutting in the area where the string was pulled out. I know sometimes it can be hard to tell where the string was pulled from. Hope this helps! :)
