Ingredients

  • 4 Cups slice fresh strawberries
  • 1/2 Cup sugar +
  • 3 Tbsp. sugar
  • 2 1/2 Cups original Bisquick Mix-{BISQUICK LABEL INFORMATION Link}
  • 2/3 Cups milk
  • 3 Tbsp. butter or margarine, melted
  • 1 Container Cool Whip

Instructions

  1. Chop and mix strawberries and 1/2 cup sugar; set aside. I cut them into small pieces then flatten them using the bottom of a glass. It turns them more into a strawberry sauce.
  2. Heat oven to 425.
  3. Stir Bisquick mix, milk, 3 tablespoons sugar and the butter until soft dough forms. Drop by spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet.
  4. Bake 10-12 min or until golden brown. Split warm shortcakes in half; top with strawberries and cool whip.
  5. Makes 6-8 shortcakes

    Yum! I use bisquick too. I think it makes the best shortcake and I've tried plenty of 'from scratch' recipes.

    Good Morning Marti, I love strawberries, I love shortcake and I do love cream, so all in all this is a perfect recipe for me. The only thing is I am not familiar with Bisquick, could you tell me what this ingredient is.
    I have found you by visiting No Minimalist Here and I have thoroughly enjoyed my stay, so I have become a new follower.

    Oh, now this sounds like an easy recipe though it's so pretty. I'm for sure trying this very soon. I just purchased Strawberries at the grocery store this weekend but they're being used in a cake today. If I have any strawberries left over, I'll make your recipe, if not I'll have to run back to the store later this week. Look forward to trying this out~Thanks so much for sharing.
