Pom Pom Wreath Tutorial {wreaths}

Here is a fun craft using yarn. Making beautiful pom poms for a wreath. Coordinate the color of your yarn for the holiday season.

If you crochet then you probably already have plenty of yarn. I have found it really inexpensive at WalMart.
Supplies you will need:
Yarn
Wreath
Scissors
4″ cardboard
This pic shows a hanger, I was going to shape the hanger to a circle but the pom poms did not stay in place. You can buy a wire wreath or a wicker wreath and glue them on.
I used a thicker yarn than the regular yarn that’s thin like string because it adds more ‘fluff’ to the pom poms.
Cut a piece of cardboard 4″ long. You will wrap your yarn around the cardboard about 30 times.
Slide the yarn off the cardboard. Cut a longer string and place the yarn on top of the string in the center of the yarn and tie in a knot so it looks like this:
Cut the loops on both ends. You will have to trim the ends of the strings to make it even all the way around. The easiest way to do this is to lay the pom pom flat so you can see all the strings that are uneven. Cut the ends so it forms a nice circle. Leave the long string long because that is what you will use to tie the pom pom to the wreath, unless you hot glue them.
Now take the long string and tie the pom pom to the wreath and add a pretty bow, or hot glue then to the wreath. Either way will work. I found these small green wreaths at Goodwill for $1 and tied my pom poms to it. I think the green wreath will make a great holiday decoration with red pom poms.
Enjoy!
We got about an inch of snow today here in Texas! ’Ellie’ enjoyed watching it snow!
